Just wrapped some days in Canada for the kids - not hot there by the way. Also just planned and executed my eldest's 16th party.... to all you party planners out there, my hat goes off to you. Today, I'm back in the office (and sweating). Now that I can see past the mountain that was "TEENAGE PARTY," I have some updates:
Schedule Update: I will be away 8/13-8/20 without consistent access to technology. There will be limited appointment availability from 8/30-9/15, as we prep for fall.
Clinical update: Patients are advised to refrain from driving for 6 hours after using cannabis. Beyond your personal advice, we generally suggest avoiding the operation of machinery within 6 hours of use. This is especially crucial as consumption sites increase in NJ.
Clinical update: Keep in mind the recommendation to avoid inhalation methods and to use reputable, consistent micro-dosing with other forms. In summary, use the lowest effective dose—if doses of 15 mg+ are ineffective, please seek clinical assistance.
Admin Update: We have adjusted our automated email reminder from 10 months after your last booking to 50 weeks. This change ensures you have enough time to schedule an appointment and use any remaining allotment, while not being too far ahead of the next year and NJ MMP's system.
Admin Update: Our PA provider will no longer be apart of Smart Cannabis MD and CPS; you will see that reflected in the site.
Admin Update: AI integration by our website provider has increased costs, leading to a price rise after years of decreases. In spring, I will explore simpler web hosting to prevent further cost increases. We will maintain automated booking and payment services. Long-term, we will see new patients, mainly through your referrals, which we greatly appreciate. We will also continue educating providers on using cannabis effectively and managing side effects.
During hot weather, it's crucial to stay hydrated by drinking water and choosing options low in sugar and sodium. Take time for yourself. Go outside when the air quality is favorable, but avoid the hottest parts of the day. Choose mornings and evenings for outdoor activities, and remember to use bug spray. Sunscreen is essential. Use a fan to stay cool, but when temperatures rise into the upper 90s and beyond, seek air-conditioned environments. Keep up with your primary care, mental health provider, health screenings, and lab appointments. Stay safe, and see you throughout the year.
